Service Description
In this 5-week course, you will, gain new skills and receive all the support you need in creating you own unique soft furnishings project (curtains, roman blinds, cushions or window seats) Please get in touch before booking with details of your project as space is limited and we can only accommodate 1 person curtain making per session. Email: info@joppasewingschool.com Skills required: Must be able to use a sewing machine and be confident sewing seams and straight lines. What you will learn: Calculating fabric requirements, including allowances for hems and folds. Measuring and cutting fabric. Joining fabric and pattern matching Blind or curtain construction techniques including hand stitching to attach lining and finish hems (where appropriate) Understanding blind safety regulations (where appropriate) What to bring: Fabric Lining fabric (for curtains and blinds) Roman Blind Kit or curtain heading tape (for curtains and blinds) Matching thread
